My Background
When I was a high school student I fell in love with art and I knew that I wanted to have a career involving art. My teachers were a great influence on me, and they inspired me to pursue Art Education as a career.
I have nine years past experience working in graphic design, and I am grateful to be entering my third year as an Art Teacher at Albemarle High School. I hope to share my knowledge of the corporate art world with students, so they will be prepared to pursue their creative dreams in the workplace.
Creating art is akin to learning a new language in which to express yourself visually. As the famous saying goes, "The Earth without ART is just 'eh'"

My time in graduate school introduced me to applying technology and software in creating artwork. My favorite experience was creating an animation from watercolor. I also assisted in teaching an undergraduate Adobe Illustrator course.

My time at Radford I honed my skills in a variety of art mediums, from metalworking to expressionist painting. I student taught at a local middle school and high school.
